 Dal Tadka for Roti and Rice


Ingredients for making Dal Recipe:

Toor dal - 1cup
onion - 1
tomato - 2
4 pods of garlic
2 green chillies
A pinch of turmeric powder
Salt to taste

For seasoning:
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp jeera
A sprig of coriander leaves and curry leaves.

Preparation of Dal Tadka 



1. Wash the Toor dal in water, add turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida ans pressure cook by adding 3 cups of water in a pressure cooker.


2. Heat oil in a kadai, splutter the mustard seeds followed by jeera, add the finely chopped garlic, green chillies and onions.

3. Saute well and then add the chopped tomatoes and saute for 5 mins.

4. Now add the cooked dal and mix well and allow to stand for 3 minutes.

5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and curry leaves.

Serve hot with chapathi, rice and poori.
