Spicy Crispy Vazhakkai Chips - Raw Banana Chips

Vazhakkai Chips is one of the easy to make snack recipe which is also a very good accompaniment for sambar sadam, kaarakuzhambu, puliyodharai, etc. This can be made very easily than the vazhakkai fry or vazhakkai podimas. Try this simple recipe and enjoy.


Raw Banana Chips



Ingredients needed to make Vazhakkai Chips

Vazhakkai/ Raw Banana – 1
Salt – as needed
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp.
Oil for deep frying

Method for making Vazhakkai Chips

1. Wash the raw banana, trim the edges and peel of the outer skin using a peeler.

2. Slice the raw bananas in a slicer into thin slices.

3. Drop these thin slices in hot oil in a kadai and fry till golden brown on both sides.

4. Drain the chips in tissue paper.

5. Transfer this in a wide mouthed bowl sprinkle red chilli powder and salt and mix well.

6. Cool down and then store in airtight container.

You can also use pepper powder instead of red chilli powder.
