Tomato Groundnut Chutney / Peanut Tomato Chutney is a spicy tangy Andhra style chutney recipe which has got a unique taste when compared to all other chutney varieties. You can replace this chutney as a side dish for breakfast dishes like Khara Bath (upma), Adai dosa, Millets pongal, pesarattu, Aval dosa, idli and vada instead of your usual ones.
Groundnut / Peanut - 1 cup
Tomatoes - 2 nos.
Coriander leaves - a few
Ginger - small piece
Garlic - 2 cloves
Red chillies - 3 nos.
To Temper
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
urad dal - 1 tsp.
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Salt to taste
Groundnut / Peanut - 1 cup

Method for making Groundnut Tomato Chutney
1. Heat oil in a kadai, add the roasted peanuts, garlic and red chillies and saute well. Remove this and transfer to a plate. Allow this to cool.2. In the same kadai add chopped tomatoes and saute well till it becomes mushy.
3. Allow this to cool and then add this to a mixer along with groundnuts, garlic and red chillies. Always use roasted skin peeled groundnuts which are readily available in the market. Add coriander leaves (optional).
4. Grind this to a smooth chutney like consistency.
5. Season this with the ingredients given under to temper.
Serve this with any South Indian Tiffin variety
