Ingredients for making Karuveppilai Sadam
Raw Rice - 1cup cookedFor Grinding:
Curry leaves- 1 cupUrad dal - 2 tbsp.
Gram dal / Kadalai paruppu - 1 tbsp.
Red chillies- 4
Tamarind - small size
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp.
Pepper - 1 tsp.
A pinch of hing
Salt to taste
For seasoning
Groundnut oil- 2 tbsp.mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp.
channa dal- 1 tsp
red chillies-2
Peanuts - 10 nos.

Method for making Karuveppilai Sadam
1. Wash the curry leaves and pat them dry.
2. Dry roast the ingredients given in the list to a fine powder. Set this aside.

2. Heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds after it splutters add the urad dal, chana dal, red chillies, curry leaves and peanuts.
3. Add the cooked rice and the ground curry leaves powder and mix well.
4. Saute well for few minutes.
Serve Curry leaves Rice with any South Indian Varuval or Vadai.
