Mangai Pachadi is one of the traditional Tamil Nadu Recipe which is prepared during Mango season. It is one of the important Tamil New Year Recipe. Here Raw Mango is blended with Jaggery to give a delicious taste.

Ingredients Required to Prepare Raw Mango Pachadi
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Raw Mango/ Mangai - 1 no.
Green chillies - 1 no.
Red chilly - 1 no.
A pinch of turmeric powder
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Urad dal - 1 tsp.
A sprig of curry leaves
Method for making Raw Mango Pachadi
1. Peel the outer skin of the raw mango and cut them into thin long slices.
2. Heat oil in a kadai splutter the mustard seeds add the urad dal when the dal turns brown add the red chilly and green chilly and then the curry leaves.
3. Now add the sliced raw mango pieces and saute well.
4. Add turmeric powder and 1/4 cup of water and close with a lid.
5. When the raw mangoes are cooked add the jaggery powder and mix well.
6. Allow this to boil for 5 minutes or till the jaggery melts and blends well.
Tasty Mangai pachadi is ready to be served.
